Adult Birthday Cake

Chocolate cake with chocolate coffee filling and chocolate coffee icing decorated with chocolate covered coffee beans!!!! The friend I made it for LOVES coffee and chocolate anything. (Or was that obvious.) :D It was kind of hard to make since I don't drink coffee, but everyone loved it.

Ms. Ross's Retirement

I made this cake for Loretta Ross's retirement as CES principal after 14 years. The invitations had turquoise daisies with brown and lime accents. The flowers were made out of gumpaste. I layered the daisies to give depth to them. I free-handed the scrolls on the sides. The cakes were chocolate, french vanilla, and carrot with buttercream icing.

Baby Shower

This cake was made for a friend's friend who was having twin girls. The idea came from the Pink Cake Box lady from the Food Network. I modeled the pregnant lady out of gumpaste. I was very nervous at first, but I was pleased with how it turned out. The cake was chocolate and french vanilla with buttercream icing. The letters, dots, and flowers were fondant and gumpaste.

Softball!!

Another end of the season softball cake. My friend has me come up with a different cake each season for her daughter's softball team. This season the team was the City Champ for their level. The cakes are french vanilla and chocolate with buttercream icing. The bat's texture was made using gel coloring and a toothpick. I craved the glove using my hand as a guide. Then I made a hole for the ball cupcake.

Nemo and the Beach

This cake was made out of buttercream icing, teddy grahams, lifesavers gummies, pretzels, and fruit rollups. And yes you see a can of store brought icing. However, that was bought before I starting making my own chocolate buttercream. (Which is SOOO much better than the store bought)

For this cake, I used a 9x13 pan and carved Nemo. I used the cover of the movie as a template for the decorations.

Lady Bug Cake

Again, this cake was for a friend of a friend. (I love word of mouth.) The mom asked for a cake covered with lady bugs because her daughter loves bugs. It is made out of a layer of French Vanilla and a layer of chocolate and buttercream icing.

Topsy-Turvy Cake

This was my first topsy-turvy cake. It was made for a set of twins birthday (boy and girl). The purple cake was chocolate with peanut butter filling and the orange cake was strawberry with strawberry filling. The decorations were make out of fondant.

Teddy Bear Cakes

These cakes were for a friend of a friend. The red and white teddy bear matched the invitations and was French Vanilla. The blue and white teddy bear was chocolate. I made one a fuzzy bear and one a smooth bear.

Bank Cake

This cake was for the students that worked the bank at the school this year. It is suppose to be a bag of coins. It may not have turned out like I wanted, but the kids loved it.

Hannah Montana Party

Again I used buttercream. For the guitar strings and mic cord I used gum paste. The mic was made out of an 6"x8" cake pan and a small glass measuring bowl.

Another Girl's Rule Cake

This time I used gum paste for all of the decorations. It was much easier to use. I also like the pink and purple buttercream for the bases. I did not put the "Girl's Rule" on the cake because it had to be transported.

Filled Cakes

I made these cakes to test out filling flavors. They are both vanilla cake. The top one is pineapple and coconut with a little white chocolate. The bottom one is cherry pie filling covered with melted milk chocolate.

My mom's and my cake

I made this cake because my mom and I have never had a Barbie cake before. The texture of the dress is made with a paper towel.

Memaid cakes

This is my first mermaid cake. This little girl's favorite colors were pink and purple. I also made the chocolate shells. The rest is buttercream icing.

This is my second mermaid cake (just 2 days after the first). This little girl liked very bright colors.

Another Friend's Daughter's Cake

This cake is made with buttercream icing and royal icing flowers. I used a 9"x13" cake pan and then cut out the "4".

Mother's and Son's Birthdays

The three tiered cake with red bows is made up of NINE layers. It should feed about 125 people. It is made with buttercream frosting. The bows, the number 40, and the dots are gumpaste and the flowers are royal icing and it has black ribbon around it.

The Texas Longhorn cake is made from 4 batches of rice crispie treats and buttercream icing. The son's room is decorate with the Longhorns. The number 16 and dots are made with gumpaste. This was the easiest cake I have made in a long time.
